Jerry Veno Vanderwaall, 68, of Colorado Springs and the Westcreek area, passed on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vandrena; three brothers, Eddie, Robert, and Hans; one sister, Grace Barnett; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Born in Surabaja, Indonesia, Jerry traveled with his family to Holland, Brazil, and back to Holland before coming to America in May 1961, where they settled in Natick, Massachusetts. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during Vietnam, and dedicated 2 years of service to our country as a dog handler. In his professional life, Jerry worked for Digital, Hewlett-Packard, and L3 Communications as an electronic technician on several top notch projects and government contracts.

Jerry was loved by many people, and even in death he continues to touch lives. Jerry was an organ donor, and his liver will be used by the hospital for teaching purposes. His Vietnam uniform is on educational display twice a year at Newnan High School and the National Guard Armory in Newnan, Georgia.

Jerry will not be forgotten, and will forever live on in our hearts and memories.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or financial contributions, please make a donation in Jerry's name to The Heart Foundation, (818) 865-1100, and/or to your local Humane Society.
